Founded by Sarah Dorweiler, Aesence is an independent editorial publication dedicated to minimalist aesthetics across art and design. Through essays, interviews, studio visits and exhibition reviews, the publication explores the quiet depth of an aesthetic that is often admired but rarely examined with the attention it deserves.

Since its founding in 2015, Aesence has developed a distinct curatorial voice - shaped by the belief that minimalist aesthetics are not a style but a way of perceiving. The publication presents the work of contemporary artists and designers who share this sensibility, offering considered perspectives on their practice and the ideas behind it.

Dorweiler studied architecture before working independently as creative consultant and founding Aesence. Her work extends beyond the publication into photography and art consulting.
