Encounter is a Contemporary Art gallery in Lisbon and London, founded in 2014 by Alexander Caspari. The gallery curates academically rigorous and immersive exhibitions and works with a core group of leading emerging and established international artists.
In 2022, Encounter opened a new gallery space in Lisbon, located in a magnificent 19th-century apartment on Rua de São Bernardo, not far from Jardim da Estrela and the British Embassy. The space comprises seven exhibition rooms, two viewing rooms, and an idyllic sculpture garden.
Since its inception, Encounter has been committed to building dynamic relationships with collectors, institutions, and foundations to promote contemporary art in all its diverse forms.
