Galerie Dina Vierny

Galerie Dina Vierny was founded in 1947 on the advice of Matisse and Jeanne Bucher by Dina Vierny, Aristide Maillol’s last model. Located in the former premises of a “bougnat” at 36 Rue Jacob, it quickly established itself as an important venue on the Paris art scene. Initial exhibitions by Maillol, later by Rodin, Laurens, Matisse, and many others, made the gallery well known. With foresight and curiosity, Vierny discovered artists such as Serge Poliakoff, organized important presentations, and brought the works of the Moscow avant-garde to Paris in the 1970s through her travels to the Soviet Union.

Today, the gallery is run by Pierre and Alexandre Lorquin, who are expanding its focus to include Impressionism, modern, and post-war art. With new exhibitions, publications, and a clear international orientation, they are continuing the eclectic legacy of their predecessors. Artists represented include Stéphane Bordarier, Jean Degottex, Emile Gilioli, and Serge Poliakoff, among others.
