Japan Art – Galerie Friedrich Müller

The gallery Japan Art – Friedrich Müller was founded in 1977 by Friedrich Müller in Frankfurt am Main and specializes in traditional and modern Japanese art, as well as contemporary international works. The gallery is characterized by its minimalist aesthetic and offers a careful selection of sculptures, vessels, calligraphy and paintings.

Originally focused on ‘Mingei’, anonymous Japanese folk art, the gallery now presents works that combine aesthetic, cultural and historical significance. After Friedrich Müller passed away in 2007, the gallery was taken over by his wife Christa and his two sons Marcus and Alexander.

The gallery is located in Frankfurt’s Old Town, opposite the Museum of Modern Art, and continues to be an important place for art lovers who appreciate the simple and profound.

Aesence is an independent art and design publication dedicated to minimalist aesthetics. Founded out of a deep appreciation and fascination, Aesence aims to promote awareness and appreciation of minimalism in art and design.
