Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum

The Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation is a major cultural institution dedicated to collecting, preserving and interpreting modern and contemporary art. The history of the Guggenheim began in 1937, when Solomon R. Guggenheim transformed his private collection of non-objective paintings into a publicly accessible institution. Over the years, the collection has been significantly expanded through donations and acquisitions.

Today, the foundation operates several museums worldwide, including the famous Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. The museums are not only known for their impressive architecture, but also for their extensive collections, which include works from various artistic periods and styles, from Impressionism to minimalist and conceptual art.

Aesence is an independent art and design publication dedicated to minimalist aesthetics. Founded out of a deep appreciation and fascination, Aesence aims to promote awareness and appreciation of minimalism in art and design.
