Galerie Japan Art Friedrich Müller presents works by artist Hiroko Nakajima in Frankfurt. The exhibition features works on paper and canvas from 2000 to 2017.
Hiroko Nakajima, born in Japan in 1948, spent her childhood in India and has lived in Germany since the age of 10. Rooted in Japanese calligraphy, her images transcend its boundaries to create abstract signs that follow their own rules. Her works combine opposites: they are energetic and powerful, yet light and poetic.
For Nakajima, it is essential to convey the meditative state of consciousness from the painting process and the individuality in her art, with the intent of eliciting pure and unfiltered emotions in the viewer.
