Struan Teague “Sound” On View At Annex14

Zurich, 03 June – 08 July 2023

Annex14 Gallery presents the solo exhibition “Sound” by Scottish artist Struan Teague. Teague, who works both in London and in his native Edinburgh, takes visitors into a world of abstract painting in which colors and lines form an impressive symbiosis. The artist’s particular visual language, characterized mainly by the use of oil pencils, pastels, and dry pigments, invites a conceptual, intimate experience.

“Sound” represents not only the simplicity and ambiguity of Teague’s sketches, drawings, and paintings but also the space he creates, which he presents to the viewer in the form of a calm and relaxed atmosphere. Rather than a clear narrative or representation, Teague opens up the possibility of viewing his works as if they were music, exploring their own unique rhythms.

The vernissage will take place on Friday, June 02 from 6 to 8 pm at Annex14 Gallery. The exhibition will also be open to the public during the Zurich Art Weekend from June 09 to 11.
