Rak, designed by Francesc Rifé Studio for Kendo, is a minimalist furniture collection characterized by its clean and constructive design. Originally conceived as a system of occasional tables, the collection has gradually evolved to include dining and bistro tables, benches, stools, a console table, and a desk.
The growth of the collection is not the result of forced expansion but of a desire to offer new solutions without compromising its language. Rak remains an exercise in synthesis: precise angles, ash wood planes layered with apparent simplicity, and a rigorous construction that avoids ornamentation. Each piece follows the same structural logic, with materiality playing a central role. The striking yet understated design gives the furniture a powerful simplicity and interprets traditional craftsmanship in a contemporary way.
The new additions extend the scope of the collection without disrupting its visual coherence. The generously proportioned dining table structures the space with sobriety; the bistro version, available in circular or rectangular formats, offers greater versatility; benches and stools, conceived for both domestic and contract settings, together with the console and the desk, complete the ensemble with solutions designed to integrate discreetly into various contexts.
With RAK, Spanish furniture manufacturer Kendo underscores its ongoing commitment to honest, functional, and timeless design. Based in Valencia, the company regularly collaborates with renowned designers such as Miguel Milá, Antoni Arola, Kutarq – and Francesc Rifé Studio. Interior architect and industrial designer Francesc Rifé founded his eponymous studio in Barcelona in 1994. The studio specializes in a wide range of projects, from interior design and industrial design to architecture, art direction, and concept development. The design approach is based on traditional craftsmanship and a clean, minimalist design language.
Currently on View: The full collection will be on view until October 2025 at RI HOUSE (Josep Bertrand 3, Barcelona), as part of an installation conceived by the studio together with ceramicist Maya Carves.
