Drill Lamps by LeviSarha

Drill Lamp is a minimalist lamp designed by Brussels design studio LeviSarha. Made from volcanic rock, it combines traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, showcasing the stunning beauty and versatility of basalt.

The Drill Lamps were commissioned by DAMN° Magazine for the exhibition “A Matter of Perception: Tradition & Technology” at Palazzo Litta during the 2016 Milan Furniture Fair. Basalt, a volcanic rock from Belgium, was carefully selected to create the lamps. The designs are made from cores drilled from this rock, creating a unique, minimalist aesthetic that is both modern and timeless.

Behind this creation are designers Sarha Duquesne and Levi Dethier, who founded the studio LeviSarha in Brussels in 2014. Specializing in product and furniture design, the duo quickly made a name for themselves for sober and modern designs characterized by a rigorous approach and particular attention to detail. Their work is formal and functional and deliberately avoids excessive ornamentation. LeviSarha is curious by nature and enjoys working on projects for a variety of clients, from art galleries to industrial brands. Their creations include limited editions as well as mass-produced pieces.

The Drill Lamps are a stunning example of this eclectic approach that blends tradition and technology.
